Rain on snow event caused several size 1 wet and loose avalanches in the alpine above 1600m. Solid snow pack at this elevation, though we did not pull out our probes to measure it. There was rain crust from 1650m down to 1450m located approx 5-10cm below the new fallen snow. From 1450m to 1300m the crust was gone and the snow was soft and wet, probably the best riding of the day, though very heavy. 1300m the snow pack was 40-50cm, which lessened rapidly down to the parking area. Good coverage in open areas, but, a necessary boot pack in the lower forest. Snowline @ ~1150m.
