AST1 class observed numerous point release to size 1 in the am due to solar radiation in the 15cm of new snow in past 24hrs. 280cm snpk, 1550m, E asp, 31 degrees. Storm snow from the last few days approx 40cm became a cohesive slab throughout the day. CTH22 x2 down 127 on facets above 4cm rain crust, ECTN on same layer. Interesting ob was when we were filling in pit, one student went above pit wall on skis and weighted the snpk and there was a significant shear down 40cm RP.
