Incident

Dropped into a small gully in the bowl, was very wind affected. Ski cut at the top with no result. Avalanche was triggered at the most narrow part of the gully 5-6m down. Crown was above skier when triggered, pointed straight and managed to ride the front of the avalanche down to the supported plateau. Once the avalanche was slowing down, swam in a back crawl motion and stayed on top of the debris. Skier was partially buried, with one arm out, and managed to dig himself out, while his partner skied down.
