Marriott update

msulkers, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Heavy snowfall and high winds created some of the toughest trail breaking conditions of the season. Snowpack upside down and large settlements, whumpfing, and shooring cracks frequent even in the forest. Numerous natural size 2s from steep northerly asp or south-facing crossloaded open TL features. In trees 170216cr down as much as 80cm. We heard one very large avalanche from area of Honey-bronzed and suspect at least size 3, but no visual. Conditions kept us below treeline throughout day. Significant change in snowdepth of storm snow from 1600m up, with over 40cm new by end of day. Snowpack at hut loacation is 370cm on avg.
