<p>While skinning through trees on NW aspect we remotely triggered 1.5 size avalanche on adjacent rocky slope with thin unsupported snowpack. 20m wide / 45cm deep fracture line occurred 50m upslope from our position with slide running past us for a total length of 60m. Due to our position we were safe. Lots of whumphing and shooting cracks occurring in all rocky areas.</p>

Steep slopes, Alpine slopes, Convex slopes.

Avalanche Conditions

30cm + of new snow, or significant drifting, or rain in the last 48 hours.

Whumpfing or drum-like sounds or shooting cracks.

Deep powder.

Stormy, Cloudy.
