Great travel conditions up to the summit col of Hector. From there it was drytooling as the glacier has pulled back from last time I was up there exposing a short but reasonably technical pitch of rock to a rap anchor. At the peak the main path to the summit has low snow but is doable with some thought.
The glacier had only a small section of bare ice at the top which we skirted to the climbers left of and the crevasses were well bridged.
