Fantastic skiing through the Hollyburn trees. Tons of new snow from the last 24 hours. Ski pen down ~60cm while skinning and pole probing alongside the skintrack to nearly 100cm. Pleasant and unexpectedly low density higher up.
Ski cuts on steep convex rolls and test slopes produced very easy size 0.5-1 avalanches down 30cm on the MFC. This reactivity was notable on all aspects. Fortunately no widespread propagation and not stepping down further. Certainly still enough snow to take a skiier for a ride and potentially cause injury. As such we avoided steeper terrain and enjoyed tree laps.
