Good Snow For Sled Stucks

<p>Today we went to see what we could see up the Middle Dore River drainage. We sledded to an elevation of 1500m at the junction, through moist/heavy snow that was great for getting the sleds stuck. On the way we saw a couple small loose wet avalanches in the valley bottom from the recent rain. We skinned up from the sleds looking for better snow up higher. We saw no new avalanches in any of the paths around us and had no results with our snowpack tests. We failed to get high enough to ski dryer snow, only making it to 1700m, so we survival-skied back to the sleds, managing the descent with our knees still intact.
