Hide and seek with surface hoar

<p>We did not find evidence of the recently buried surface hoar around Mear Lake, despite it being prevalent in other nearby areas (like we saw yesterday). There had been some small sluffs recently in steep terrain, but otherwise no recent avalanches or signs of instability. There was about 20 cm of low density new snow and it was wind affected above treeline.</p>
