Spicy Storm Snow

We saw several size 1.5-2 soft slab avalanches triggered by snowmobiles - the avalanches were on wind loaded slopes (north westerly aspects) and fracture crowns ranged from 50-70cm with strong propagation on the Dec 30 sun crust. All the avalanches observed were on steep slopes, often with convex features. Speaking with other riders there were also similar reports of avalanches on easterly aspects - 40-50cm down on the same layer. We were travelling around 1800m today.
