Zoa sub peak

matt-johnson1989, Wednesday 23rd October, 2024 9:32PM

Toured up zoa ridge leaving the parking lot at 11:11am on wet surface snow. Dug a pit on a north east aspect qith a 23 degree slope at 1760m ECT23 resulted in a collapse at 20 cms down that did not propagate or slide at all. Made some nice pinwheels while digging the pit. Surface snow seems like it is melting during the day and freezing overnight. Most of the trees have shedded their snow bombs but a few are literally hanging out. Tops of shorter trees beginning to pop out and even saw some ground at the pipeline. Observed evidence of an avalanche on the Thar bowl run from the falls lake parking lot. Overall a fun slushy and slashy day. Photos are of the terrain behind Thar Nak and Yak seen from Zoas sub peak.
