Chickaboom springtime

<p>Good day out on the Chickaboom traverse. Winds on Upside of chimney col were worrisome but in general ok. Visibility was verging on marginal but mercy of the skies was delivered at the col and enough visibility was provided to drop into the Boom side. Good turns, loose powder on steeps and once you hit the flats it gets more cohesive and crusty. Biggest concern was party ahead of us released a small (0.5) slab just before transition to skin over Boom col.
Weather was acting like something was knocking on the door but all gusts were tempered by dropping down whatever slope was in question. Ski back down to Chickadee from Boom was almost corn on crust - we took skiers right Avy path, to avoid dense trees if you drop in straight off the col - many thanks to the fellow who shared that advice with us on the way up in the AM.
Certainly springy out there at lower altitudes! Skins require a good hang to dry out!
