White Queen
Kootenay Boundary

Skinned up through the trees to the summit of White Queen and managed to survive. Difficult navigation at times until around 1900m. Large boulders and fallen trees made it feel like a labyrinth. On the ridge travel was easier and snow depth varied from 90cm - 130cms. Sun crust was present the majority of the hike, but was less so up top. Took the fall line down. It was good for about half the run and then it was a bush wack. No signs of instability where we travelled and the slope we decented on was mostly below threshold, except for above 1900ms. The open slopes up top felt good at the time, but with the new snow coming and that sun crust present, the bond between the two should be checked before committing to anything in avalanche terrain. Exhausting day, but still fun.
