Avi forecast is Low Low Low and observations supported that. Warm melt freeze created a solid crust. Some debris from previous warm temps, but no movement today of any overhead snow or cornices.
Snow conditions were: Crusty, Hard. Weather conditions were: Cloudy, Windy. We rode: Alpine slopes, Steep slopes, Sunny slopes. We avoided: Convex slopes, Open trees. Riding quality was terrible.
Initial compression test - top crust layer went after 3 from elbow. Deep Compression Test. The 70 cm layer was sudden collapse after 1 arm. Layer was facets that were beginning to round. ACMG Paddy Jerome (Can Rock Guides) did the tests and analysis.
