We took advantage of the high pressure today and set our sights on Sutton Peak. We approached via a fork off the Stuart Main, and hit snowline at 800 m. We were able to travel up to 1150 m on snowmobiles, and transitioned to skins from there. Travel was quick up the cut blocks to the ridge. Snow surface was wet in most places, a hard crust could be found in shaded areas. We recorded an air temperature of 6° at 1500 m at around 1 pm. It was a true June-uary Island ski day. Snow depth up north is still lagging behind Mid Island. Averaging around ~1 m, but Lee features may hold up to 180 cm.
