Ozalenka

joelmclay, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

We were skiing North Facing runs near the trailhead to Ozalenka Valley. Great snow, about 10 to 15 cm overnight on Saturday March 11. Temperature inversions, approximately 3 degrees at 1600 meters and about 1 degree at 1200 meters. Snow was moist and falling off the trees. About 50 cm on top of a hard crust that was reactive to ski cutting on Rolls. Fist then 4F overtop of the hard crust. Did not have a SP characteristic and wasn't propagating in our area, but was sliding where it was able. Some slides visible in the alpine, mainly loose snow off of ridge tops and was not extended into tree line runouts.
