Parked at bow lake. Was -18 at the car at 7:30am, headed up the bow hut drainage in fantastic condition following a solid track til we started headed up towards crowfoot, dug a pit in the moraines on a Nw aspect at 2420m, 28 degrees 220cm deep, only dug down 125cm. No results on column test although 70cm deep above the november 23 crust there was a density change for 5cm at 70-75cm that was 4 finger with fist above and fist below, seems to have started faceting near the crust. Putting a saw below the pit floor and investigating with a probe felt no deeper crusts( Halloween), also no signs of the nov 27th and a well consolidated right side up lower pack. Lots of wind affect (soft sastruggi) above treeline to similair with ranging density of wind slabs in the alpine, no signs of instabilitys or previous avalanches stayed cold all day despite the sun skied right from the summit to the creek in supportive wind affected powder conditions.
