The long way in

<p>Above 1900 m the snowpack seemed very consolidated and not rotten yet. Very little natural avalanche activity observed. No signs of instability until late afternoon. Day was partly cloudy but solar aspects did become wet in late afternoon. Triggered a <size 1 on a sunny aspect near the end of the day. Low snow compared to previous 2 seasons.</p>

Rapid temperature rise to near zero degrees or wet surface snow.
