Blackcomb Backcountry

Toured from Blackcomb out to Decker Lake and then up the E ridge and down the W side of Decker. Treeline to about 2000m is 15cm of very soggy mush on top of older powder (less penetration than I expected). Rain runnels and all that. Generally terrible skiing. 2000-2300m was less mushy and firming up a bit so somewhat supportive. 2300+ was 20cm of warm packed pow. Could see Whistler Heli doing runs over on the Trorey Glacier and maybe it was alright...? Overall terrible skiing (except on piste which was amazing), travel was great (traverse season?), and almost anything that could slide, seems to have in the last few days. All the big stuff went but not quite full path generally. No avalanche activity today. Here's hoping it cools down and we get some gentle precip to smooth things over.
