Grand Daddy

Grand Daddy today. No signs of instability were observed. Couloir was variable, quite a bit of hardening and wind effect in spots, but soft enough to be manageable. As we climbed into the choke, crust became concrete from previous skiers side-slipping or side-stepping. Above the choke had fairly poor coverage with several protruding rocks. Cornice appeared to be about the size of a house. Didn’t observe any loose snow or chunks coming down from above us, but didn’t stay for long. Opted to down-climb below the choke and enjoyed decent turns to the fan. Bowls adjacent to the fan had a good ~15 cm of surface facets that made for some nice turns.
