Skied Lefroy W face today via the Death trap and the Sexsmith sneak. An oddly quiet day from the Victoria glacier, not sure I've ever not heard multiple seracs falls when in the vicinity but nothing moved all day today which was great. Under the seracs for first light around 6.30 to wait and rack up, ran the gauntlet and again the death trap was oddly fat with very little serac debris except for a solid band of 100m wall to wall near the end of the overhead (read: lookers left end of serac more active) Coverage on the glacier up to the pass was great too. Nice boot top dry snow made for great skiing. Lots of wind affect near the pass. The lower face was great, the sneak was filled and in ski condition. The upper face had very little snow on top of blue ice.
Overall still very wintery up high, a few more warm, wet storms would make all the difference. The sickle traverse looked uniform but hasn't begun a spring cycle yet. The upper sickle coverage looked very good. Vic S Ridge was very snowy. Lake ohara groups looked very snowy with minimal wind affect in the alpine. It's still ski season folks. Oh and the skate back across the lake at 10am was near perfect edgable blue ice ski skate but she won't last much longer.
