Black Queen

We headed up from the evening ridge parking following the white queen ridge east. It was very warm and the snow quickly got heavy and sticky as we skinned up. We dropped in on the east edge of the first bowl of black queen (north) down to the meadow. The snow in there was still quite nice and powdery since it was shaded from the direct sun. We then traversed out staying high above hummingbird pass and contoured back to the highway side (south). The skiing from there was heavy and quite sticky. Hard to do much of anything as it would slam you to a halt out of the blue. Overall, lovely to be out and get some nice turns at the start of the run. No signs of instability spotted, however we were in pretty chill terrain.
