<p>Shooting cracks and whumpfing while breaking trail. Cracks propagating >30 m horizontal and fracturing ~10 m above us while skinning across a 30 degree, N facing boulder field. 30-35 cm of low density snow sitting on a supportive crust made for excellent ski conditions in low angle trees. Challenging skiing on the bed surface where slopes have run. Mod-strong ridgetop winds at 3:00 pm. </p>
