The ski cleared up to see some recent large slab avalanche activity mostly within the ski area. Dug a pit at near a ridge crest 1830M S asp near the south boundary of resort where there was the isolated rain crust from 2 days ago. Found CTVE (failed while cutting) below this .5cm crust (under 15cm new snow) on decomposing surface hoar. Also failed while cutting, at the base (only 90cm at this location) on 3mm depth hoar. Interesting for all to see the difference in a pit 20M away on the north side of the ridge crest. Total snow 150cm, CTM (15) down 45cm on decomposing SH. Crust not such an issue and much harder snow pack right to base. Probed what we think is the Dec 9 persistent layer down 100cm.
