Based on our observations in the last couple of days we are gaining confidence with the snowpack at Bear Pass. It's been several days since the last storm, we noted no significant weak layers and did not observe signs of instability or recent slab avalanches. At 1150 m we measured a snow depth as 445 cm. Given the low danger in the forecast at treeline elevation and no signs of instability, we felt confident stepping out into bigger terrain.
