<p>Investigating reports of easily triggered slabs in Spearhead Range from yesterday on N through NE asp at alpine just below ridgetops. Strong winds from NE encountered in early a.m. but main slab development from yesterday's strong SW winds. Slabs to 40cm noted just below ridgetops on N asp with shooting cracks noted in isolated features above 2000m. Suspect buried surface hoar over old surfaces as failure plane. Riding into slab at 2030m to make ski cut slab stiffened significantly and fractured as mod/hard slab. Rider rode glide blocks to edge and more concave terrain. Crown up to 40cm. Width 30m and ran 45m. Similar conditions found above 2000m on these asp, particularly just below wind accelerating features.</p>
