Needle/Flatiron bowl observations

mike, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Snow was amazing! Between 30 and 50 cm of new, very low density snow, depending on aspect & elevation. One thing that surprised us was how stormy it was all day. Vis was pretty low most of the day and it snowed continuously from 8am-6pm. The cars had ~15cm of new snow on them when we returned. Saw evidence of one small slab from the past 24hrs on east side of the ridge, below the cornice in the needle N bowl but otherwise we didn't see any signs of instability anywhere we went or could see, with the poor vis.
