Roberts Slack Country
Kootenay Boundary

Sunny day occasional fog Setting in. Slack country up Roberts, we rode 2 laps in and out of the trees on Steep terrain. Snow was surprisingly light and deep. We attempted 2 ski cuts at the top of the Ridge. The first directly on top of the Ridge produced a small 2m wide slab about 2-3 cm thick and only ran 2-3 m. The second cut was done 15 m away from the first and 5m down from the ridge and produced no results. While riding the second lap we come across a size 1 avalanche near the bottom of Gun Barrel Chute. Unfortunately we where unable to see the start, but seemed like it may have been a natural Wet/loose avalanche from the day before. Southern exposed aspects of Roberts had a thick wind crust.
