A party in Bell couloir

Had a quick rip up to bell couloir today. Hs BTL started around 20cm up to 40cm nearing the lake, with good travel along the summer trail (up and down). 2350-2100 meters averaged 60 cms HS , Being 50 of faceted snow on the Oct 21 crust with decent skiing but still lot of hazards(rocks). From the fan up to the top of the Col was variable snow depth, 1 meter plus in the shelters lower pitch (2350 meters and up ) before the steepest pitch where it was 30-50 on the glacier ice (bring crampons or set own boot pack) Some older 1 finger laminated windslabs in the upper pitch but unreactive to skis. Where snow wasn’t wind affected had an average of 30 of fist which made for lovely skiing. 3 groups through it today. And fan had lots of tracks Two size 1 loose drys out of extreme N/Ne terrain observed around 1300 Calm winds until 2700 meter , light winds with minimal wind transport at ridge top .
