Teaching an AST2 for Robson Backcountry Adventures this week. We spent the day at Lucille, practicing companion rescue and digging a snow profile. We had light S-SE winds, gusting to moderate throughout the day. Significant snow transport was observed at ridgetop and at all exposed TL and ALP features, likely building windslabs in all lee features. We saw no signs of instability and no recent avalanche activity. Our snow profile took place on a NW slope (below the ridge and above the lake) @ 1950m. We found no significant results in either our compression test or ECT. HS 105.
