Chief Pascal

South Coast Inland

Chief Pascal had awesome riding on N aspects. No avy activity observed today except sluffing from skiing. It is still relatively low tide on the Duffey; hit some rocks underneath the pow, creek crossings were more difficult than usual and alders were horrendous below 1700m. Follow my skin track at your own peril! Heard multiple whumpfs while skinning on SW aspects
Saw 3x natural slab avalanches from the Wed Feb 28 storm on Convex rolls and fairly mellow runout angle in the Chief Pascal area. They were covered by ~15-20cm of new snow. Saw multiple similar avalanches in the distance in the Joffre Shoulder area but on steeper angles and with longer runouts. All observations on N aspects.
