Skied in the Garibaldi area on 20240405. On NW-NE above 1500 we found soft cold snow that had been lightly deposited and made for excellent riding conditions. We also observed some surface conditions with denser wind slab structure primarily on E aspects as well as areas that had been stripped by the wind. No new avalanches apart from some very small wet loose on solars.
No signs of persistent weak layers in the upper meter of the snowpack. Isolated areas of windslab were observed on alpine leeward slopes. Very minimal wet loose activity on direct solars.
Light winds and cooler temps preserved cold snow above 1500m.
