Went to see what the hype was about in the WH2O backcountry today and was met with a 2mm zipper crust from what must have been a wet fog/ mist from last night up to 2000m (potentially higher). At higher elevations (1800+) powder is still good underneath the crust and makes for nice landing snow but is a tad tricky to maneuver in due to snow the crust. Powder underneath the crust down to the parking lot (1400-1800) seemed to be pretty heavy and dense.
Stability was great, no signs of instability and a lot of the smaller krumholtz trees at and around ridge top had settlement cracks around them. No signs of recent slides.

Dense trees, Open trees.
Avalanche Conditions
Rapid temperature rise to near zero degrees or wet surface snow.
