Amazing day up at Surprise Pass! There were old slides in all of the major slides paths - probably from the recent warming cycle as the debris was covered in 15-20 cm of fresh snow. The pass itself is sporty as usual and our team chose to boot pack rather than switch back up the avalanche debris. Lots of tracks coming down from the pass but the fan still has plenty of fresh snow left that skis really well! We noted some sluffing of the fresh snow in super steep terrain but it overall seems to be bonding well.
Shoutout to the group of two setting a skin track up towards the Aberdeen glacier - looked like a rad day!
