Trash/Whitewater

Allen James Rollin, Wednesday 23rd October, 2024 9:33PM

What a last 24 hours! From -4 and heavy snowfall to rapid warming and even a little rain. The snowpack was heavily saturated to 2000m, sticky and then slushy below 1650m. The wind was even starting to stiffen the snow above 1800m which made skiing very challenging. Although our day was mostly at the ski resort (as anything out of bounds was very challenging) we did observe a small size 0.5? or bigger in 'Giddy Up Gully' in bounds which was very heavy, slow moving and led right into a terrain trap full of pointy sticks and such. All in all a fun day with lots of laughs and cartwheels.
