Skied some of the lower East facing slopes off Helena Peak. Wanted to ski rockbound Lake Couloir or Chockstone Couloir but the latter was too thin(and freezing cold in the shade) and the former was getting tons of solar input. Air temp at TL in the sun was near 0 with liquid water on some rocks. Multiple point releases up to size 1.5 observed on the way(~24hrs old) in on steep, solar and rocky terrain, many more on the way out up to size 2 running several hundred meters. Multiple sluffs observed off the extreme North facing terrain of Castle Mountain. Skiing in the alpine was slightly wind affected and thin, lots of sharks. At TL skiing improved while still being thin outside of sheltered gully features. Some cracking off the skis up to 2m and on the recent storm snow up to 15cm deep but nothing moved. Average hs of 70 at TL but quite variable.
