We spent the day in Corbin and toured around the Rain Gauge and Heartbreak areas. Cornices are growing in this area and there was evidence that overhanging cornices had dropped during the storm and triggered a slab avalanche below. There is a bomber crust up to 1800m once you are above that the snow is softer but the strong to extreme winds following the storm have built wind slabs in sheltered areas at treeline. In the Alpine slopes are either stripped bare or hard wind slab/sastrugi mix. The sledding was pretty good you just had to keep your head up for wind effected snow.
