Encore trees

<p>Strong winds at ridgecrests and in alp were transporting available surace snow and new snow into various lee features in the overnight and morning hours. We explored steep trees for the day just below treeline. Ski penetration remained good with up to 30cm in facetted snow over a firm base. Slopes steeper than 40 degrees sluffing with skiing except in more open trees near ridgecrests where shooting cracks and firmer windcrusts moved as slabs on slopes over 40 degrees. Temps dropped slowly during the day with no more than 5cm accumulation of new snow at 1750m.</p>
