Bald Hills

christinefeleki, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

We remote triggered a Sz. 2 avalance today from about 1 km away. NE faceing slope about 100m wide and 100m long. It looks like it stepped down to the Nov facets. See pictures... the second picture shows the distance we triggered the slope from. We were on the ridge top lookers right of picture. Track setting up into the Bald hills today was deep and faceted throughout the forest. As we reached the TL we found about 30cm of recent storm snow which is settling. We had whoomphs in several areas today and shooting cracks in areas touched by the wind. We avoided all big alpine features and convexities and gave a wide berth to large planar E and NE facing slopes above, kept to ridge lines and low angle supported terrain.
