Skied up to Old Glory via the Plewman Trail on Sunday 25th Nov. The weather was not great with poor visibility and flat light due to fog and cloud. We did not know which way was up in the alpine so avoided the open alpine slopes on the face of Old Glory and picked our way down through trees.
• 1,400m-1,600m - bushwhacking on breakable crust.
• 1,600m-1,800m - some fresh snow on a fairly supportive crust. Features generally covered.
• 1,800m+ - some nice powder with wind board and dust on crust thrown in. Features generally well covered.
Did not see any major signs of instability despite signs of significant wind loading. This may change with the new snow.
Overall, there could have been some good skiing to be had high up if the weather had been better.
