Freda NW Tree Line to Alpine Transition Zone

<p>Stuck to low risk terrain. No visible signs of avalanches in alpine or treeline visible. Dug two pits to assess snow pack. Pit 1 - South East facing slope below Freda ridge showed a weak layer at 30 cm. Below 30 cm the snow showed strong consolidation. Around 70 cm there was visible granular snow deposits from early season. Total snow depth 115 cm. Pit 2 - North West facing slope below Freda ridge showed a weak layer at 10 cm & 40 cm. 40cm showed ice layer approx 1 cm thick. Below 40 cm the snow showed strong consolidated. Total snow depth 230 cm. </p>
