Skier remote size 2, Larch, Lake Louise

<p>An avalanche occurred in Larch Bowl above Larch lift on Nov 30th in an area currently closed by the Lake Louise ski hill due to avalanche concerns. The avalanche was remote triggered on the ascent from 20-30m away. The group saw a crack at their skis, felt a large whumpf, and then saw the avalanche initiate. The group was travelling up an alternate route but encountered a hard slab they found disconcerting so they changed their route of travel. The party had avalanche gear and some avalanche training. As an FYI - Uphill access to the backcountry through the Lake Louise ski area is only permitted through the ski out, and not up open ski runs. Entering closed areas at the ski hill is not permitted at any time.</p>
