5040 KG of Snow

Vancouver Island

Another storm blew through bringing more heavy wet snow. Last night the temps didn't get cold enough to form a crust. This lead to very deep skiing and skinning today with the added snow (~15cm as of 6pm). Due to high winds from the SW and dense cloud, we avoided the alpine and skied treeline and below to 1050m. Upper snowpack is very heavy. No skier triggered or natural slides observed, but pinwheeling was prevalent at the elevation we skied.
