Boom Lake

colawinter, Friday 9th February, 2024 4:50PM
The day started off a little cloudy with some flurries which left around 10am. Turned into a beautiful bluebird day with some fantastic turns. We skied a steep north facing couloir on Boom Mountain. Down in the valley bottom there was about 10-20cm of soft HST. The crust was supportive to skis and started to thin out around 2300-2400m. Even though the winds were calm to light there was still lots of sluffing out of steep rocky terrain all day. We also watched some point release dry loose out of steep solar aspects up to size 1 on the south facing slopes of Boom Lake.
