Bow Summit

kenzie.wade, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

First time skiing bow summit due to a change in plans with the incoming storm. As soon as you get out of the trees it's super wind affected, which is to be expected right now I guess! We just ended up keeping skins on and skiing out to skiers left after one lap. A few little etiquette things I guess... 1. Fill in your pits. I found 3 open pits today, no one insight and no attempt of trying to be filled in. I don't know if you've ever skied into an open pit before but it really sucks. I don't know what's going on this winter but it seems like not one of the pits I've come across have been filled in. It's just a nice thing to do guys! 2. Please please please stop peeing on the skin tracks. It's gross. A couple weeks ago I fell in someone's piss while flailing on a kickturn. Gag. At least move off the corners a bit. 3. Apples and oranges peels etc are still garbage and you need to pack them out. They're not going to compost in the winter and even in the summer it takes ages to break down. Do it for the critters and pack it out like you would garbage. This also seems to be common place this winter, I've carried a few apple cores and orange peels out. You're welcome. Otherwise it was a nice little roadside stop with not much to write home about.
