Rode one of the north facing drainages at the base of Mt. Whymper. Humidity effect made the valley bottom very cold, lots of crystal metamorphosis happening. Higher up got much warmer where we skied some wind deposited snow on top of crust. Snow was much better in the trees than in more open slopes. No avalanche reactivity on steep slopes - even the soft snow on crust wasn’t sluffing at all.
