200 cm snowpack on average in trophy area. No results in pit tests other than CTE 3 resistant planar failures of thin surface slab. High winds and trace amounts of new snow January 17 to 20 have developed a thin windslab on surface in lee areas which was stiffening with wind and colder temperatures. This thin surface layer easily triggered in steep terrain and convex rolls causing minor sluffing. Some minor surface cracking on very wind exposed terrain noted January 20 as the layer stiffens. Surface hoar has formed up to 5mm as of January 21 at treeline and likely above, and sits on the wind slab which could become problematic after next storm.
