Well the good news is that the surface hoar is being ruined….the bad news is we have a new crust! Between 1800-2100m we experienced freezing rain that was leaving a thin, clear, breakable crust, and ruining any potential good skiing?. Below 1800m you could make a snowball from the moist surface snow. The winds were not as strong as expected and were light to moderate out of the south west and we saw no blowing snow or signs of recent avalanches. That said, we have uncertainty about forecasted snowfall amounts overnight and into tomorrow, and how the new snow will bond to old surfaces, so we will likely be pulling back with our terrain choices in the coming days.
