Quick Observation

Light snow precip throughout the morning with temperature warming significantly throughout the day. Powder became quite heavy on the descent. Shooting cracks, snow shedding naturally from trees, and snowballing down slopes were observed on our way down. At 1534m (Mt Mulligan), the snow depth is >320cm. I forgot my paracord for cutting the snow, so I was using a ski to cut the backside of my extended column. In the process, I found an ECT VE RP 45cm. i.e. It fractured during the cutting process and was a resistant planar slab 45cm down. It propagated to around ~60cm of the EC and then created an uneven break in the last ~30cm. Note: We parked at ~720m and there is a tree blocking the road around 740m. The road was wet and slippery on the descent and we passed another group that had fully flipped their truck into a ditch lower down. Be sure to bring chains and air down if nessacary!
