Crampons to the castle

This wasn't a ski trip, no surprise there. We drove up to 850m on the logging roads that branch off of east fork main past comox lake. The snow was VERY FIRM! We walk up through cut blocks and forest to the ridge of castlecrag with minimal post holes. Travel on foot was easy, riding looked pretty poor. Snow depth on the ridge below the summit was 125cm. If you want to get out there the high snow line will let you drive very far and make this a nice day hike in the mountains.
